They came together with vocalists Kyle Kupecky and Caleb Grimm and formed the band Yellow Cavalier releasing one self-titled EP in 2009 before changing the name to Anthem Lights. He and Alan Powell were writing music for the project when they thought the songs would be better performed by a group. The group's debut album was released by Reunion Records. The group has released one EP under their former name, Yellow Cavalier and six albums under their current name. Working under the name Yellow Cavalier, the four singers released their self-titled debut EP in 2009 before they changed the group's name to Anthem Lights the following year. The band started as a solo project for the vocalist Chad Graham. Anthem Lights is an American Christian group originating from Los Angeles.
